The Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Apex was originally founded to secure the lives of the farmers and provide them assistance for their agricultural endeavours since the past 99 years. The TNSC is one the pioneers of the co-operative credit movement in India under the leadership of Sir V.C.Desikachariar in 1905 when it began its business operations. The bank began with an initial accredited capital of Rs. 25,000/- and has witnessed a tenfold growth through the different stages of bank development starting from the co-operative credit structuring ending to the three-level system of primary agriculture credit.
